Editor, Daily News:
I recently received information in the mail regarding a proposed shopping center at the corner of Golden Gate and Wilson boulevards. I am strongly in support of this development.
We have needed a shopping center with a large grocery store for a long time. Yes, there are a few convenience stores in Golden Gate Estates where we can pick up a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread. But these stores are not major grocery stores, offering the lower prices and selection we need.
I have been a resident of the Estates for many years and currently have to drive nine miles each way to the nearest grocery store. By the time I get home, my ice cream is melted!
I urge my neighbors to join me in voting in favor of this shopping center in the Nov. 2 election so that our Collier County commissioners will allow this much-needed project to move forward.
